What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the website to recognise your device on subsequent visits, store preferences, and maintain functionality.

The cookies we use

This website sets no cookies at all: no session cookie, no preference cookie, no analytics or advertising cookie. A visit to any page, including the IIC TSA pages, produces no Set-Cookie header and no request to any domain other than www.internetidentitycard.com. Verified on 11 October 2026 with a clean browser; anyone can repeat the check with a tool such as Webbkoll or the EDPS Website Evidence Collector.

Browser storage

An offline copy of the site's own pages (service worker + cache storage, no personal data, see below); the IIC generator's own local storage, only if you use it (below)

No: the offline copy is strictly necessary to provide the offline-first service you asked for by visiting, and the generator stores only your own data, on your own device (both exempt under the ePrivacy Directive)

What we do NOT use

No advertising cookies. We do not display ads or share data with ad networks.
No third-party tracking cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar trackers.
No social media tracking. Embedded social buttons (if any) load only when clicked.

Privacy notice on this website

Every page carries a short notice under the navigation bar stating that this site sets no cookies and uses no trackers. It has no button and no memory: nothing is written to your browser to hide it. Until 11 October 2026 the notice had an OK button that saved a flag (iic.cookieNoticeAck) in local storage; that flag is no longer written or read, and you can delete it from your browser's local storage for internetidentitycard.com if it is still there.

Offline copy of the site

This website is offline-first: on your first visit it registers a service worker (/site-sw.js) that saves a copy of the site's own pages and files in your browser's cache storage, so that the pages still open without a connection. This copy contains only the public pages you could download anyway: no identifier, no visit history, nothing about you, and nothing is sent back to us. It is replaced when the site is updated and can be removed at any time from your browser's site-data settings.

Local storage in the IIC application

The Internet Identity Card ™ generator uses your browser's local storage (not cookies) to save your encrypted identity data on your device. This data:

Stays on your device only
Is encrypted with AES-256-GCM
Is not transmitted anywhere
Can be cleared by you at any time via your browser settings

Local storage is not subject to cookie consent because it is initiated by you (the user) for the purpose of saving your own data.

There is no cookie to disable on this website; the IIC application relies on local storage, not cookies, and keeps working whatever your cookie settings.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. The latest version is always available on this page.
